Bicycle Touring

Laurel King has been an avid touring cyclist (mountain and road bike) since 1986. She toured by bicycle extensively on her own and has worked as an event and tour coordinator for non-profit and commerical tour companies for over 10 years. She has toured in Europe, New Zealand, Mexico, Canada, U.S. and Costa Rica on her own or with friends.

In the bike event and touring industry she has been involved in running large multi-day events and small camping or hotel tours. She worked for two commercial bicycle companies; Imagine Tours (California Tour North) and Scenic Cycling Adventures. She was also involved in working with non-profit events where she worked with the American Lung Association's State Bike Trek Coordinator, a position where she marketed fundraising bike tours and contracted with various affiliates to coordinate and run their events. Some of those events were the Catalina Clean Air Challenge, Emigrant Trails Bike Trek and the Valley Lode Bike Trek and the Bike to Work Day in Sacramento.
